Build web traffic by pushing the right buttons

To put on your To Do list: Add Twitter’s new “Follow Button” and Google’s “+1 Button” to your site. They sit along side your Facebook “Like Button” as well as buttons that make it easy for your web visitors to Retweet, Digg, Link, StumbleUpon, Buzz, Reddit, Mixx, Vote, Tip, Shout, Kick, Punch, and Pull Hair.

Seriously, though, this whole social media battle of the buttons may seem like it’s getting out of hand, but for building traffic to your site, these buttons do help.

Every tweet, digg, stumbleupon, and click, really, is a positive signal for Google and Bing that your site has value and deserves a high ranking in natural search results.

Google confirmed in December that it now includes social signals in its page-ranking mechanism. See video below:
