The Pew Research Center, a “fact tank” that provides information on the issues, attitudes and trends shaping America, estimates the average person spends almost 5 hours a day online, more than with any other medium.

Yet the typical marketer allocates only 12% of his or her budget to digital advertising.

How misaligned are most marketing budgets? If you’re like most companies, your magazine and newspaper ad budget still dwarfs your digital marketing budget.

If this is true for you, keep this in mind: the average person spends only a half hour a day reading some type of print publication.

Something to ask your media planner or print media rep next time you meet.
